Morning Study: Wednesday 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Evening Study: Wednesday 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
St. Mary’s Parish begins a 20-week study on April 1, 2024. This study runs for 10 weeks then breaks for summer. It will be concluded beginning in September 2024.
ACTS: THE SPREAD OF THE KINGDOM
The Acts of the Apostles is the story of how a few Christians empowered by the Holy Spirit were chosen to bring Christ and the Good News to the ends of the earth. Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom is a Bible study that traces how the gospel witness spread outward in waves from Jerusalem and reveals how the seeds of Church structure and authority took root. It shows how the joys and struggles of the early Christians in living the life of Christ apply to us today.
The study is free, the cost for the workbook is $35.00.
Evening Study
On Wednesday night, April 17th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM St. Mary’s Parish will begin a Bible Study on the Letter of Paul to the Galatians. This is the ninth book of the New Testament, written by St. Paul the Apostle to Christian churches that were disturbed by a Judaizing faction. Paul probably wrote the epistle from Ephesus about 53–54 AD to a church he had founded in the territory of Galatia, in Asia Minor, though there is uncertainty about the date of the letter’s composition. The members of the Judaizing faction taught that Christian converts were obliged to observe circumcision and other prescriptions of the Mosaic Law. They repudiated Paul’s statements to the contrary by denying the legitimacy of his apostolic calling. In rebuttal, Paul vigorously defended his credentials as a true apostle of Jesus Christ and provided important autobiographical information in the process.
Everyone is welcome to join us, there is no book or homework. We will listen to a video by Scripture scholars about the book and have a discussion about what we had listened to. This study is free. This study will run for 9 weeks, until June 12th.
